Publishing success for Synergy member (April 2010)
Mike Sylvester, holder of Synergy’s sales trainer seat, has published his first book. Entitled ‘Don’t upset Renee’, the book charts Mike’s difficult journey from an oppressed childhood through a series of career setbacks to the creation of the successful business he runs today. Mike treated the Synergy group to a reading of the first two chapters on 23 April, after which several members bought a copy of the book and have since told Mike how much they enjoyed reading it. Through his story, Mike aims to encourage people to think about why they and others behave in certain ways, with a view to creating better understanding between people, happier families and more productive workplaces. To order a copy of the book, please contact Mike.

The joint meetings have now become a regular fixture with the two groups coming together several times a year. Both Synergy and ING have also extended invitations to include the other group in social gatherings and other events. Synergy insurance member has record business month (April 2010)
Coversure Insurance Services, our insurance member, enjoyed their best-ever month in March 2010, writing over £100,000 of business. The Nottingham branch of Coversure, a national franchise, has gone from strength to strength since being established in 2004 by Synergy seat holder Paul Hartle and his wife Sharon. Specialising in commercial work, Coversure Nottingham has gained a reputation for providing impartial advice, excellent customer service and high quality policies. Their success is due in part to the business passed to them by fellow Synergy members since joining the group in 2008. We’re proud to have high calibre businesses like Coversure in our membership and delighted that business passed within the group is contributing to their success.

Nottingham network groups join forces (September 2009)
Synergy members attended a joint meeting with the ING network at Edwalton Golf Course on Thursday the 17th of September. This was the second time that the two Nottingham-based networking groups have come together, the first occasion being at Synergy’s base, Riverside Farm, earlier in the year. Synergy chairman Alan Finch comments:
The last Friday of every month is an official Synergy Visitors’ Day and you are likely to meet a larger number of contacts at these meetings. However, you can attend on any other Friday if you prefer. It costs £10 to attend which is payable on arrival and includes a full English breakfast. Synergy members always ensure that our visitors are given a warm and friendly welcome as well as the chance to make some excellent business contacts.
‘Synergy members enjoyed a fruitful and enjoyable meeting with ING on the 17th September, with a pleasing amount of business being passed. We are delighted that our relationship with ING continues to develop – the groups share a similar approach to business networking which enables members of both organisations to build effective partnerships with their colleagues.’
