Relationship with ING develops (April 2010)
Synergy continues to develop its relationship with fellow Nottingham networking group ING, with another joint meeting taking place on Thursday 8th April at Edwalton Golf Club. The joint meetings have now become a regular fixture with the two groups coming together several times a year. Both Synergy and ING have also extended invitations to include the other group in social gatherings and other events. Current Synergy chairman Mark O’Donnell comments: ‘We’re delighted that our relationship with ING is growing. As our respective members get to know each other better, there’ll be an increasing number of opportunities for business to be passed between the two groups.’
Synergy insurance member has record business month (April 2010)
Coversure Insurance Services, our insurance member, enjoyed their best-ever month in March 2010, writing over £100,000 of business. The Nottingham branch of Coversure, a national franchise, has gone from strength to strength since being established in 2004 by Synergy seat holder Paul Hartle and his wife Sharon. Specialising in commercial work, Coversure Nottingham has gained a reputation for providing impartial advice, excellent customer service and high quality policies. Their success is due in part to the business passed to them by fellow Synergy members since joining the group in 2008. We’re proud to have high calibre businesses like Coversure in our membership and delighted that business passed within the group is contributing to their success.
Synergy photographer triumphs again (October 2009)
Synergy Network’s photographer member Philippa Double has come up trumps again – this time in the Master Photographer’s Association’s national awards. Further to her two wins at the MPA’s East Midlands awards in June, Philippa’s work was put through to the national competition where she was presented with the prestigious UK Wedding Award. She saw off competition from hundreds of talented photographers across the country before being interviewed about her award for an arts TV programme that will be aired in the spring. Synergy is proud to promote the services of Double Image – a perfect example of the high quality, market-leading businesses that make up our Nottingham networking group.

Nottingham network groups join forces (September 2009)
Synergy members attended a joint meeting with the ING network at Edwalton Golf Course on Thursday the 17th of September. This was the second time that the two Nottingham-based networking groups have come together, the first occasion being at Synergy’s base, Riverside Farm, earlier in the year. Synergy chairman Alan Finch comments:
The last Friday of every month is an official Synergy Visitors’ Day and you are likely to meet a larger number of contacts at these meetings. However, you can attend on any other Friday if you prefer. It costs £10 to attend which is payable on arrival and includes a full English breakfast. Synergy members always ensure that our visitors are given a warm and friendly welcome as well as the chance to make some excellent business contacts.
‘Synergy members enjoyed a fruitful and enjoyable meeting with ING on the 17th September, with a pleasing amount of business being passed. We are delighted that our relationship with ING continues to develop – the groups share a similar approach to business networking which enables members of both organisations to build effective partnerships with their colleagues.’
Synergy Network holds first AGM (September 2009)
Synergy Network has held its first Annual General Meeting further to its establishment in September 2008. The AGM was held on Friday 11 September 2009 at Riverside Farm, after the usual business networking meeting had closed. Agenda items included a review of the group’s finances, its rules and Mission Statement and the election or re-election of committee members. Colin Snaith (Membership Secretary), Lisa Collett (Treasurer) and David Winnett (Social Secretary) were all re-elected to their posts whilst Paul Hartle agreed to take over the position of chairman for three months from 1 October. New leaflet approved to promote Synergy and its members (August 2009)
The Synergy Network committee has approved the production of a new leaflet and business card holder that will help to promote Synergy and its members within the Nottingham business community. The materials are being written and produced by group members Faye Stenson (copywriter seat) and Phil Hughes (printer seat).
‘Members will find the new leaflet and card holder very useful when talking about Synergy colleagues to their contacts’, comments Membership Secretary Colin Snaith. ‘As well as having their colleagues’ cards to hand, members can show their contacts that Synergy Network members belong to a professional business networking group that works hard to promote high quality firms in the Nottingham area.’ The leaflet and business card holder will be ready by the end of September2009.
Synergy Network member wins prestigious photography award (June 2009)
Philippa Double, holder of the photographer seat at Synergy Network, has won two prestigious awards at the Master Photographers Association (East Midlands) annual awards ceremony. Philippa won Photographer of the Year in both the Wedding and Portrait categories and was presented with two trophies at the lavish ceremony held on 11 June 2009 at the Queen’s Head Hotel in Belton, Loughborough. To celebrate her double whammy of wins, Philippa announced an offer of free portrait sessions at her Beeston studio for all customers making a booking in July or August 2009.
